Note

It is a bench designed for open public spaces. The covers on it can rotate on their own axis. In this way, two different colors are used and the top surface of the bench becomes suitable for the use of a text or pattern. The top surface of the bench is a surface consisting of 7x27 circles. This surface provides a writing or drawing area for people to leave notes, draw figures and express their feelings, even if temporarily.

Walk DVRC Street Basket

Walk DVRC is a pedestrianization plan to turn 1 km of Des Voeux Road Central in downtown Hong Kong into a park. The area is filled with banks, offices, and shops but the sidewalk is over congested to allow a sustainable and walkable downtown. The project called for a partial pedestrianization so that retail businesses can still deliver their goods during off peak hours. During peak hours, office workers and residents can enjoy the wider road as part of their park and walkway.

Edro

New cities offer and at the same time impose new ways of leaving daily life and urban spaces, therefore this system is able to merge seamlessly nature and city. This street furniture system combines the vase for plants and flowers with the bench, keeping the nature as the center focus. The seat of the benches is obtained with two planes inclined towards the center, where a recessed drainage channel brings rain water into the vase.

Happiness Here

This seating is meant to be a statement as well as a design solution. It embraces community involvements and conveys a much-needed message of happiness to encourage positivity in a city that repeatedly fell short on the global ranking of happiness level. Infused with cultural references (origami, paper-cutting) drawn from the designer’s mixed (Japanese-Chinese) heritage, the seating has also adopted Sun Chan's Chinese character art motifs as the designer’s tribute to her beloved late father who departed the same year she was commissioned this project.

Waves

Waves bench which is designed for performing arts venue Zorlu Center PSM’s stairs in Istanbul, gives fluidity to outdoor stairs. Made of cross sections that are fabricated each one separate from the other. They are then assembled together for people to sit individually or collectively. Waves was constructed from steel, retified wood and wheels. Coming in 11 different movable modules are all harmonic to each other. Waves defines the space in a smooth way becoming urban furniture that people interact with. It is intended to be used by everyone and meant to be a meeting and resting spot for all.
