Arrival

Arrival is a temporary installation art project created from two vertically positioned recycled shipping containers. Inspired by the moment a ship enters harbor, the refabricated curved facades transform rigid industrial structures into a spatial passage. Mirrors, integrated lighting, and periodic mist blur reflections of the city, sea, and visitors. Designed for a zero waste art festival, the project demonstrates how recycled materials can be reimagined into an immersive public experience connecting movement, place, and sustainability.

Beehive Fireworks

By day, the form evokes a Qing Dynasty merchant vessel surging through the waves, a frozen moment of splashing spray that crystallizes the harbor's former glory. As night falls, the artwork transforms into soaring Beehive Fireworks, using the interplay of light and shadow to whisper a serene prayer. The piece utilizes reflections on the water to create a symmetrical top down view of the fireworks, while the natural ripples of the water authentically recreate the erratic, crisscrossing dynamism of the pyrotechnics.

The work uses bamboo and steel bars as the primary materials, and LED light strips are placed around them. The swirl-like shape attracts people into the space and becomes a space for tourist interaction.

By blending warm, gradient illumination with subtle highlights in the atrium area, the design gently draws attention to architectural elements, supporting an environment that feels approachable, contemporary, and aligned with the industrial architecture and the creative retail store concept.
