Chrysalis

Under the vast green carpets of meadows and forests lies a resource waiting to be transformed. Layers of crystallized time awaiting excavation and transformation. There are those who recognize its beauty even when the stone is still in the form of quarried blocks, and can foresee its beautiful finished future. This powerful scene of orderly set of raw stone blocks standing in the field, each one different from the next, and the captivating idea that the rawness of them all will soon be tamed to become a uniquely designed product are the inspiration for this outdoor kitchen. Heer

Heer is a bench for breastfeeding in public spaces. It's a small oasis of peace for moms and babies, a space they can come to rest and, if they want, even to isolate themselves from the hectic urban surroundings. Heer rotates, so moms can choose a position that suits them best. Heer gently rocks and calms both mom and baby. Heer has shields to offer privacy to moms that need it, and to protect babies from distraction. Heer is perfectly suited for airports, shopping centers, parks, public institutions. In other words, it fits wherever moms go because babies could be hungry anywhere.

A shutter of the waste hole prevents rainwater from entering the bin.

Happiness Here

This seating is meant to be a statement as well as a design solution. It embraces community involvements and conveys a much-needed message of happiness to encourage positivity in a city that repeatedly fell short on the global ranking of happiness level. Infused with cultural references (origami, paper-cutting) drawn from the designer’s mixed (Japanese-Chinese) heritage, the seating has also adopted Sun Chan's Chinese character art motifs as the designer’s tribute to her beloved late father who departed the same year she was commissioned this project.

Sandane

Table tennis is a space-efficient and accessible game compared to a lot of sports. The equipment needed is cheap and the game is easy to learn and equally hard to master. The perfect urban activity. The project aims to honor the game of table tennis with a sculptural table, made for the urban environment. A strict frame is made from minimalistic plates of steel, painted with dark reflective paint. A chain of wooden spheres works as a crossbeam. As the spheres reflect in the paint a continuous chain appears to go through the metal, making it seem translucent and light.
