Leaves
Leaves is a club house for a residential community, located halfway up a mountain in Changsha, China. The interior covers 2000 square meters on two floors. The first floor holds a reception lobby, a swimming pool and a gymnasium, and the second floor is a leisure area with a book bar. A lighting installation of custom made LED leaves is held by white painted aluminum steel cables that also act as conductors. Light control technology shifts the glow of each leaf to imitate autumn wind. The rolling ceiling of the former building is retained to recall a wavy mountain.
Leaves Club House by Kris Lin has been featured as a grand representation of service design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Leaves Club House won the Golden A' Design Award in Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design in 2021. The A' Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that celebrates outstanding design of hotels, restaurants, resorts, cafes, bars, cruise ships, theme parks, travel experiences and more.
